Yes! Finally, a fully realised, Umichan Maiko game. Ah, I’ve been a major fan of the series for years and was overjoyed to see this… Even if there are one or two issues with the “final product”.
Pros
~lots of interactions to have with these characters, really making you feel like you’re involved with this over the top anime girl world
~Maiko is just fucking everything (or more accurately, everything is fucking her) and it’s awesome
~art and writing are on point here, and while it takes itself a little too seriously sometimes, it’s a great ride from start to er, “finish”
~fun additions such as seeing Maiko’s bangs around the corners of the screen, you can look down and see her ridiculously big boobs (and even play with them whenever you want), randomised dialogue encounters, a job mini game, there’s tonnes to do
Cons
~lots of grinding. You know these kinds of games, you need to raise levels by doing annoying mini games, raise relationships by doing quests, and unfortunately most of these get really repetitive, really quickly
~there is no ending. You just keep going and going, and the game always seems to be promisingly a massive ending soon, and there’s just no payoff. I looked into it and it seems that the author has moved into various other projects since this, so don’t expect the game to be finished anytime soon
~if you’re not in the loop on the Maiko lore, then expect to not know who half these characters are or what’s is even going on, right from the get go this game expects you to be right up to date. You still kind of know what’s going on, but you won’t really be invested
~the camera during the sex scenes does this really weird thing where it follows your mouse, but only up and down and with no zoom in. It could’ve been a great function but is poorly implemented, meaning that you’re going to be watching Maiko through “booblehead vision”
Overall: recommended
